I am so grateful for all of the help that we received from family and friends in planning and carrying out our plans. Here are a few of the things that we came up with for the girls.
Journals:
We compiled the required scriptures for the girls to read and put them into a special journal for them. We also attached a packet on the back to keep their parent letter and hand outs in. These took FOREVER to make and my mom and sisters helped immensely. It was by far one of my favorite projects that we did for the girls/ Here are a few of the pages from the journal.
My sweet grandparents donated these for our girls. They were so fun!
We had several girls attending camp that were not consistent and many didn't know each other so we wanted to provide name tags among other things for the girls once they got to camp. There was camp itinerary/name tag, song book, theme explanation, and welcome card explaining what year the specific girl is and a pack of mentos "up2u" gum attached to it.
Decorations:
It always pays to have a mom and aunt who teach school, who also happened to have Dr. Seuss themed classrooms a few years back. They let us borrow their decorations to hang on the cabin. My favorite decoration was the giant sneetch that my mom used to use as a job chart. It had just enough pockets attached to the front of it for us to use it as a "secret sneetch" where the girls could write nice notes about each other and fill the pockets.
We did a few crafts up at camp. Two of which were an "embark" (that is the YW theme this year) key chain and some decorative blocks for the girls bedrooms. The girls did a great job of putting them together and it looked like they had a lot of fun in the process.
